One problem, fifteen versions of it

Every industry below has the same underlying problem in a different costume. A card reader secures the main entrance. Everything past it runs on mechanical keys: interior doors, cabinets, padlocks, gates, and sites nobody staffs. Those keys get copied, lent and lost, and nothing records who opened what.

The reason that gap exists is almost always power. A reader needs a wire and a power run at every opening. Nobody trenches to a well head, a tower gate or a park restroom, and nobody runs conduit to every cabinet in a data hall. So those openings stay mechanical by default.

No power at the lock. A CyberLock cylinder needs no wiring and no battery at the opening. Power is provided by the battery inside the CyberKey the moment the key touches the lock. That is the entire reason this works on a gate in a field, and it is what every page below has in common.

Start with the opening, not the industry

What every one of them gets

A record of every opening. The lock ID, the date, the time and whether access was granted. A standard cylinder stores 1,100 events in Generation 1 mode and 6,500 in Generation 2. The key keeps its own trail of up to 3,900 events, or 12,000 on a Generation 2 key, and always records refusals.
Access that expires by itself. Keys are issued against a schedule naming which locks, which days and which hours. A contractor key stops working when the job ends. Nothing has to be collected.
A lost key that stops mattering. Disable it in CyberAudit Web and it stops opening locks. Locks also hold a lost key list, up to 500 entries on Generation 2 non-padlock models. Nothing is rekeyed.
Dual custody where it matters. Standard cylinders can require two or more keys presented in succession, from different schedules, with an open delay of up to 17 minutes.

Common questions

My industry is not listed. Does that mean it will not work?

Probably not. The fit is decided by the opening, not the sector. If you have doors, padlocks, gates, cabinets or remote sites that currently run on mechanical keys and have no power for a reader, the answer is usually yes. Tell us what you are securing and we will say plainly whether it fits.

Does this replace the access control system we already have?

No, and it usually should not. Card readers keep doing the main entrances. CyberLock covers everything behind them that was never wired. CyberAudit Web can also manage doors connected to the Flex System, so both live in one application rather than two.

Do we have to replace doors or hardware?

No. CyberLock replaces the cylinder inside the lock you already have, built to the exact dimensions of the mechanical one it replaces. With over 450 cylinder designs the aim is to reuse existing hardware. Most swaps take as little as 30 seconds; awkward formats run 10 to 15 minutes.

Does it need wiring, batteries or network at the door?

None of the three at the opening. Power comes from the battery inside the CyberKey when the key touches the cylinder. That is what makes gates, cabinets and remote sites practical to secure.

How many locks can one key open?

Up to 3,300, or up to 12,000 lock list entries on a Generation 2 key with the Lock List Expansion module, across up to 49 separate schedules. A master key has no limit.

Can we see it working on our own doors before we buy?

Yes. We run free pilots. We fit a small number of your openings, issue keys to the people who actually use them, and you read the audit trail before committing to anything.
