CyberLock is an electronic lock cylinder that drops into lock hardware you already own and turns it into a controlled opening. There is no wiring, no power and no network at the door, and no keyway that a mechanical key can pick or bump. The cylinder opens only for a programmable CyberKey carrying current permission for that exact lock at that exact time.
The system is three parts:
Every attempt is recorded on both sides. The cylinder logs which key touched it. The key logs every cylinder it touched, including the ones that refused it. When a key goes missing you delete it in software, and nobody rekeys the building.
CyberLock is not a card access system and is not meant to replace one. It covers the openings card access never reaches economically: the ones with no power run to them, no network, and no budget for a wired door controller.
TEC Solutions installs CyberLock across water and wastewater facilities, electric and gas utilities, traffic cabinets, municipal yards, telecom huts, schools, airports and vending fleets. The common thread is a large number of remote or unpowered openings and a set of keys that keeps moving between people.
Trucking and logistics is the same problem on wheels. One key system can run from the terminal building out to the yard gate and onto the trailer itself using Babaco TRUK-LOK cylinders built for truck and trailer door hardware. A CyberLock system has four parts. Understanding them in order is the fastest way to know whether it fits your building.
An electronic cylinder replaces the mechanical one already in your door, padlock, cabinet or cam lock. It is built to the exact dimensions of the cylinder it replaces, so the hardware and the door are untouched. There is no conventional keyway, so it cannot be picked, and some models add tamper pins and extra drill resistance. Most swaps take as little as 30 seconds; awkward formats run 10 to 15 minutes.
A CyberKey carries the permissions and the power. One key opens up to 3,300 locks, or up to 12,000 lock list entries on a Generation 2 key with the Lock List Expansion module, across up to 49 separate schedules. A master key has no limit.
Keys have to be refreshed, and the device that does it is a communicator: a wall mounted Authorizer at a remote site, a USB or ValidiKey station at a desk, a Flex System keyport, a key vault, or a phone over Bluetooth. CyberKey Air and Air2 skip the communicator entirely and update directly over wifi.
CyberAudit Web runs in a browser, hosted on secure AWS infrastructure or installed on a server you own. It holds the people, the locks, the schedules and the audit trail, and it manages CyberLock cylinders, Flex System doors and FlashLocks from one application.
CyberLock is not one product. Choosing correctly depends on how the lock will be opened and where it sits.

Blue and NFC are opened with the Cyber Access app on Android or iOS. Both can still be opened by CyberKey Flash, CyberKey Air2, CyberKey Blue 3 and fobs, so a site can mix phone credentials and physical keys without running two systems.

Standard CyberLock cylinders can be configured so two or more keys must be presented in succession before the lock opens, and can require those keys to belong to different schedules, so one person carrying two keys will not satisfy it. An open delay can hold the lock shut for up to 17 minutes after the first key touches it. This is how controlled substance cabinets, evidence rooms and cash handling areas get dual custody without a guard posted at the door. It is not available on the Blue and NFC line.
CyberLock’s own documentation puts it plainly: there is no perfect security system, and every access control system has vulnerabilities. The question is whether the remaining risk is acceptable against the cost of reducing it further. CyberLock systems have been deployed worldwide since 2000, and the physical risks have been mitigated over time with tamper pins and drill resistance. We would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

Blue, introduced in 2022, uses a Bluetooth radio woken by a motion sensor. NFC, introduced in 2023, behaves like an RFID tag and wakes when a phone comes close. Both are opened with the Cyber Access app, and both can still be opened by Generation 2 CyberKeys and fobs over infrared.

A standard CyberLock stores 1,100 audit events in Generation 1 mode and 6,500 in Generation 2. Blue and NFC store up to 6,460. The CyberKey holds its own separate audit trail of up to 3,900 events, or 12,000 on Generation 2 keys.
You disable it in software and it stops opening locks. Locks also hold a lost key list, 500 entries on Generation 2 non-padlock models and up to 256 on Blue and NFC, so a specific key can be refused at the lock itself. Rolling expiration kills unreturned keys automatically.
A card reader needs power and a wire at every door, which is why it usually stops at the main entrance. CyberLock secures everything behind it: interior doors, cabinets, padlocks and remote assets. Both can be managed from the same platform, so it is not either or.
Most cylinder swaps take as little as 30 seconds. Harder formats run 10 to 15 minutes. Nothing is drilled and nothing is wired, so doors and cabinets stay in service.
